Assuming the flint is being held tightly so it doesn't move when it strikes the frizzen. If no sparks fly the frizzen is bad and would need replacing.Powder charge. Nitro (hard) card. Shotload. I've never had any issues with a 6150 frizzen cracking in a water quench after tempering. I have two Pedersoli SXS shotguns - one 12 gauge and one 10 gauge and one Navy Arms 12 gauge made by Pietta. All of them are from the late 70's to the mid 80's.
